Epsilon Lambda Chapter

Dickinson College

Chapter History

On March 10, 1982, Dickinson College's Panhellenic Council voted to increase its number of sororities with the introduction of the Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. Forty-four Dickinson women were selected by the Grand Council to join the charter class. They participated in many activities including a retreat, parents' weekend, service projects, scholarship firesides, and even a surprise birthday party! They mixed with the other women's fraternities on campus for study breaks and had an Italian night dinner party with a men's fraternity.

Installation Weekend activities included an Installation Banquet and Service at the U.S. Army War College Officer's Club, a chapter meeting, services at Allison Methodist Church, and Panhellenic Tea at the home of the college president. Chartered on November 20, 1982, Epsilon Lambda became the fifth chapter in Pennsylvania and the 101st national chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. Today, Epsilon Lambda has initiated over 700 members.
